Labor Day weekend is September 5–7, 2026, and it books up fast. It's the final three-day weekend of the season — the last time all summer that the whole group has Monday off. Aim to reserve three to five weeks ahead (that's early-to-mid August), especially if you want a morning slot or a specific lake.
Pricing doesn't change for the holiday: captained $275/hour (up to 12), self-drive $225/hour (up to 10), lessons $275/hour (up to 8, two-hour minimum). Gas billed separately at cost — no surge pricing, ever.
Every summer has a closing weekend, and in North Texas it's Labor Day. After September 7, the group texts change from "lake this weekend?" to soccer schedules and tailgates. The water stays warm well into September — but Labor Day is the last date the whole crew is off together. The pattern is the same every holiday weekend: Saturday and Sunday mornings go first, then Monday morning, then afternoons. If your dates are flexible, the Friday before and the Tuesday after are sleeper picks — holiday vibes, fraction of the traffic.
How to lock your Labor Day slot

- Go early. A sunrise or mid-morning start gets you the calmest water of the day and beats both the heat and the afternoon crowd. On a holiday weekend, this matters double.
- Choose captained or self-drive. Captained ($275/hour, up to 12) means you show up with a swimsuit and we handle the rest — including free coaching for first-timers. Self-drive ($225/hour, up to 10) is for experienced surf-boat drivers.

Very — low-to-mid 80s on most of our lakes. The season doesn't end because the water cools off; it ends because calendars fill up. That's exactly why Labor Day is the weekend to grab.
